The Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix will welcome back fans for the first time since 2019, due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Tickets to the motorsport event will go on sale tomorrow (Tuesday), ranging from $70 (£51/€62) to $760.
Some 85,000 fans last graced the Baku City Circuit (BCC) in 2019, before the 2020 event was cancelled in a joint decision by the BCC, Formula 1’s governing body the FIA, and the Azerbaijan Government.
The race later returned in 2021, but without the attendance of spectators.
Baku City Circuit executive director Arif Rahimov told the Daily Sabah: “We are delighted to announce the launch of ticket sales for the sixth Formula 1 race weekend in Baku.
“Although we had to organise last year’s race without the presence of our beloved fans, the race itself garnered a huge global audience watching from home that witnessed a thrilling race with another unexpected ending.
“We are absolutely certain that this year will be no exception.”
The event is scheduled for June 10-12 in a record year for the sport, as it is set to include 23 races on the calendar. This season will kick off in Bahrain on March 20 and finish in Abu Dhabi on November 20.
