Transport company Uber has added a new function that will allow its customers to browse and book experiences, including live events.
Uber Explore will also allow users to book dinner reservations and other activities.
Customers will see locations recommended for them based on the categories they have chosen in the Explore tab, which will include music and shows, nightlife, art and culture, and food and drink.
Users will also find reviews, pictures of the places and events, as well as directions on how to get there. Customers can then purchase tickets for events and experiences using the Uber Wallet and Payment profile.
The Explore option has been implemented in 14 US cities so far, including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Memphis, Minneapolis and Saint Paul, New Orleans, New Jersey, Upstate New York, Orland, San Antonio, San Francisco and Seattle.
Uber has also implemented the Explore option in one international city, Mexico City.
Adib Roumani, product lead for Uber Explore, told Travel + Leisure: “We’ve built Uber Explore to take our customers beyond the ride. People have always come to the Uber app for the point A to point B piece of the journey – so we’re thrilled to expand and help inspire the destination, too.
“Whether you’re looking to expand your horizons at home or you’re travelling in a new city, Uber Explore puts the best of cities at your fingertips.”
