Our weekly tech round-up from the world of ticketing and associated industries…
Streaming and selling
Music streaming platform Spotify has tested out a new feature where artists can promote NFTs (non-fungible tokens) alongside merchandise and tickets on their Spotify profiles. Artists are already able to promote merchandise and tickets, but Steve Aoki and The Wombats appear to have been two of the artists taking part in the test, according to news outlet, Music Ally.
A Spotify spokesperson told Music Ally: “Spotify is running a test in which it will help a small group of artists promote their existing third-party NFT offerings via their artist profiles.”
Spotify will not take a cut from the NFTs and is not selling the NFTs, but allowing artists to promote their offerings.
Fan engagement
The Isuzu UTE A-League Final Series has partnered with Komo, an audience engagement Software-as-a-Service platform.
The partnership will create a dedicated digital fan hub fearing content for fans to celebrate, compete and win. The hub will use Komo’s gamification platform plug and play tools including competitions, experiences and media integrations.
Metaverse and performing arts
ImmerSphere is a new virtual realm for curators and performers to create and experience new environments, such as listening to a piano duet on the moon or watching a folk jam under the sea.
Each Sphere within ImmerSphere uses 3D sights and ambient sounds mixed in with a high-calibre performance. Visitors can scroll through a selection of Spheres and be immersed in the performances in front of them.
ImmerSphere has been implemented to inspire creators and curators in the metaverse.
