The Turkish Airlines EuroLeague has witnessed its highest average attendances in the league’s history, just over halfway into the regular season.
Almost 8,810 people on average are attending basketball games across the league, a figure that has surpassed the incomplete 2019-20 season’s figure of 8,739.
The highest attendance figure for a complete season is 8,413, which is the average attendance during the 2017-18 season.
The EuroLeague reported that venues have been setting a record fill rate of 76.07%, which is slightly above the 74.96% fill rate set during the incomplete 2019-20 season, and significantly higher than the 68.04% fill rate in 2018-19 and the 65.78% in 2017-18 seasons.
Some 171 games are played across 19 rounds and the league features teams such as Real Madrid, Fenerbahçe Beko Istanbul, FC Barcelona, Olympiacos Piraeus, AS Monaco, Žalgiris, Bayern Munich, Milano and more.
Real Madrid is currently leading the way, while Monaco, Barcelona, Fenerbahçe and Olympiacos are all currently tied for second place.
The EuroLeague season is set to run until mid-April.
