FIFA, football’s global governing body, is seeking proposals from interested companies that can deliver a ticketing solution for the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will be taking place across Canada, Mexico and the US.
The 2026 World Cup will be the first edition to feature 48 teams, an expansion on the current 32 teams.
FIFA is calling for interested parties to outline their ability to deliver a ticketing solution for the 2026 event at the highest possible industry service levels, while demonstrating a financially viable and sustainable business solution for the event taking place across three different countries.
In preparation of receiving proposals, FIFA is currently undertaking an in-depth review of the ticketing services provided at the FIFA World Cup, meaning that new companies will have the opportunity to get involved with one of the biggest events in the world.
The Request for Information (RFI) documents will be made available for those that are interested, and will outline the information requested by FIFA to assess a provider’s suitability for inclusion in a potential procurement process.
FIFA has said that this is just an information gathering process at this stage, which may be used as a precursor to a procurement process regarding the ticketing solutions for the 2026 World Cup and other future FIFA competitions.
Interested parties are able to register their interest by emailing FIFA (ticketingprocurement@fifa.org), and the deadline for registration to participate in the RFI is February 24 at 23:59 CET.
