People on the move: DEAG and more…

DEAG Deutsche Entertainment AG (DEAG) has appointed Lukas Goy to the executive board of subsidiary Myticket. 

Goy previously shared the responsibility for the operational business, and will now assume responsibility for strategic planning. Alongside the ticketing company’s chief executive Moritz Schwenkow, Goy will help to drive the expansion of Myticket. 

Goy has been with Myticket since 2018 and has also previously worked as a project manager for DEAG subsidiary River Concerts. 

Schwenkow said: “I am delighted to have Lukas Goy join me as a colleague on the board. We have been working together successfully and trustfully for many years. Ticketing is one of DEAG’s fastest growing areas. We are on a dynamic growth trajectory and want to incorporate new technologies into our portfolio in the future and thus continue to offer our customers first-class entertainment.”

Steve Eckerson has been appointed as the general manager of San Diego’s Pechanga Arena.

Eckerson has more than 30 years of experience in the industry and has worked for ASM Global at Mechanics Bank Arena, Theater and Convention Center since 2016, serving as general manager.  

He said: “I look forward to working with the stellar team already in place at Pechanga Arena and with the City of San Diego to enjoy our continued success together. Pechanga Arena has been of interest to me for many years. When the opportunity presented itself to serve as general manager, I knew it would be the right move for me to support ASM Global by coming to San Diego. The arena has a rich history in San Diego with so many first memories made for young sports and music fans.”

Gill Park has taken on a partnership at mgr, the media and entertainment chartered accountants. Park first joined mgr in 1998 as part of its tax department, before making the move to its touring department. 

The London-headquartered firm’s touring team helps international artists with their worldwide tax compliance while on tour.

PlayOn! Sports, a US high school media and technology company that includes high school ticketing solution GoFan, has appointed Lesley Wainwright as chief legal officer. She will oversee all legal affairs for PlayOn! Sports. 

Wainwright has joined the company from Warner Bros. Discovery, where she was was senior vice-president of distribution legal affairs. 

Matt Hong, president and chief operating officer of PlayOn! Sports, said: “We are delighted to welcome Lesley to PlayOn! Sports as our inaugural chief legal officer. With her extensive legal experience and expertise in media and technology, combined with her business acumen and gravitas, she brings a wealth of knowledge to our team. She will play a pivotal role in our company’s success as we continue to grow.”
