NFT-TiX has sold its most expensive ticket ever after a music fan purchased a high-end VIP experience for the forthcoming Exit festival.
NFT-Tix received $10,690 for the NFT ticket for Serbia’s Exit Universe via smart contracts platform Avalanche.
The Exit Beyond Infinite Experience Diamond ticket gives two people access to a personal host and accommodation in Leopold Hotel for four nights as well as VIP privileges throughout. Just 10 of the tickets were available for the event, which takes place at Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad from July 6-9, with the first now snapped up.
Emil R. Ljesnjanin, NFT-Tix’s co-founder and chief executive, announced the sale in a LinkedIn post.
He wrote: “I’m thrilled to announce a historic moment for NFT-TiX. Our first ever NFT Ticket on Avalanche for the Exit Festival, was purchased for an astonishing $10,690.
“This sale sets a new record for the most expensive ticket we’ve ever sold. We’re paving the way in innovation and couldn’t be more excited about this milestone.”
The Diamond ticket features access to VIP Main Stage areas, VIP Dance Arena areas, a separate VIP entrance, Dance Arena onstage, Infinite Dance Arena lounge and VIP Diamond Dance Arena.
The Platinum experience, which does not feature hotel stay and airport transfers, costs $2,675.
NFT-TiX announced in April that it will operate exclusively on Avalanche, which it said offers benefits such as energy sustainability and fast transactions. The switch allows NFT-TiX to minimise its carbon footprint, with Avalanche using roughly the same amount of energy as just 46 households a year, making it an eco-friendly protocol.
Ljesnjanin said at the time: “We are incredibly grateful for the belief and confidence that the Avalanche Foundation has shown in our vision and technology. Their backing has further validated our commitment to revolutionising the ticketing industry while prioritising sustainability and user experience.”
