Eventfinda creates seating bubbles in line with restrictions

Online event ticketing service Eventfinda has announced it is launching a seating ‘bubbles’ option to help event organisers and venues comply with Government capacity restrictions due to COVID-19 in Australia.

The New Zealand company is offering allocated seating bubbles in Australia, meaning that organisers and venues no longer have to manually correct and ensure physical distancing between different groups of ticket holders.

Any business or organiser that lists tickets for their event on Eventfinda will now have the benefit of seats being blocked out automatically when tickets are purchased by patrons, meaning the event adheres to the current Government guidelines.

Head of ticketing Anna Magdalinos said: “We’ve created this new functionality to help event organisers and venues maintain compliance and safety while providing an excellent customer experience for their ticket holders.”

Depending on the social distancing requirements of each state, organisers will be able to contact their account manager, who will configure the seating map that meets the specification. Clients are able to choose a one- or two-seat gap to meet the regulations and Eventfinda is able to create a new seating map ready for consumers to use.

James McGlinn, chief executive of Eventfinda, added: “This innovation is a necessity of our times. We always strive to help our clients deliver what they need as a business and for their ticket holders – in this case, it was the assurance of safety and compliance with Government regulations.”

The ability to reconfigure the seating map also means that organisers and venues are easily able to change in line with the evolving COVID-19 guidelines.

Eventfinda also recently announced its integration with fellow New Zealand company Vidzing, a live and on-demand streaming service.

Live stream concerts, festivals, talks and pre-recorded on-demand content will be available across the Vidzing platform, with Eventfinda offering virtual tickets to these events.
