Ticketek New Zealand rolls out Covid-19 apps integration

Ticketek New Zealand has integrated its mobile ticketing technology with COVID check-in and vaccination status apps, allowing event goers to enter venues safely and without delay.

The integrated solution will also allow fans to verify their vaccination status easily with a few taps on their mobile, while meeting the requirements of the COVID-19 Protection Framework.

The solution has already been rolled out and has been utilised by thousands of fans across the recent holidays. More than 16,000 cricket fans watched New Zealand take on Bangladesh in two Test matches at Bay Oval and Hagley Oval. Some 12,500 fans also watched Kiwi band L.A.B perform at Bowl of Brooklands earlier this year.

Chief executive of New Zealand Cricket David White said: “Providing an easy entry process for our fans is really important to the overall match day experience, as it’s one of the first touch-points we have with our supporters.

“Ticketek provided a streamlined ticketing process, integrating the latest COVID-19 event requirements, ensuring fans for our first international matches of the season entered the venues with ease.”

Working with the Ministry of Health, Ticketek integrated three fan touchpoints – the ‘NZ COVID Tracer App’, the ‘My Vaccine Pass’ and the event ticket itself.

Cameron Hoy, managing director of Ticketek, added: “Ticketek is proud to support the New Zealand Government and our venue, sporting and promoter partners in helping the reactivation of live events using our world-first technology, which will allow fans to return faster and safer to venues to enjoy the magic of live sport and entertainment again.”

TEG-owned Ticketek also partnered with the Victorian Government in Australia in November, with the state utilising its check-in solution at Ticketek venues. Fans could also verify their vaccination status easily and quickly for swift entry at events and venues.

New Zealand imposed further restrictions this week following an outbreak caused by the Omicron variant. Capacity limits have been placed on events and venues and vaccination passes will be required.
