STH UK has launched travel and tours packages for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which is set to take place in Australia later this year.
STH UK is the sales arm of Sports Travel & Hospitality Group (STH Group) which is a joint venture between French food services and facilities management giant Sodexo and The Mike Burton Group, an entertainment services company.
The company operates and manages ICC Travel & Tours, which is the official travel and tours provider of the International Cricket Council (ICC). The collaboration is part of a long-term partnership that began in 2017, with STH delivering the global travel programme for all ICC tournaments.
Some 16 travel agents have been appointed globally to deliver ticket-inclusive travel packages. These packages can include tickets, accommodation and/or travel.
This year’s Men’s T20 World Cup will take place in Australia for the first time and is the eighth edition of the event. It will run between October 16 and November 13 this year, following its original postponement in 2020.
The trophy is currently held by Australia, with 15 teams aiming to topple the hosts from the top spot.
STH UK general manager Emily Tuffin said: “The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup always delivers exceptional entertainment for cricket fans and is the perfect entry point for those looking to discover the sport and a new live event experience.
“Post-pandemic, live sporting events are proving more popular than ever, and we are expecting high demand for one of the biggest sporting events in the calendar, in one of the world’s most desirable tourist destinations.”
Over 800,000 fans are expected to attend the Men’s T20 World Cup, with some 90,000 attendees expected to watch the final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (pictured).
Tuffin added: “We are delighted to work with the ICC to manage their travel and tours programme globally and we are committed to working closely with our carefully-selected official travel agents to deliver an unparalleled experience for cricket fans who book an official travel package.”
