Glastonbury packages sell out in 18 minutes

Glastonbury fans scrambled to purchase cancelled or leftover ticket and coach travel packages for the 2022 festival, with all tickets selling out within 18 minutes.

It was the first chance to buy tickets for UK flagship festival Glastonbury in over two years, with most tickets held by those that had purchased admission for the 2020 festival, which was cancelled due to the pandemic. This sale included the tickets that had been cancelled since then.

The main resale for standard tickets will take place this Sunday at 9am BST.

Vivendi-owned See Tickets, which is the only authorised ticket agency for the festival, confirmed that Wednesday departures for coach and ticket packages sold out within 14 minutes from major cities, and then all tickets had been sold within 18 minutes.

Organisers tweeted from the Glastonbury Twitter account and said: “The Glastonbury 2022 coach + ticket packages on sale this evening have now all been sold. Our thanks to everyone who bought one.”

See Tickets also tweeted to say that packages had sold out and added: “The general admission ticket resale will take place Sunday at 9am BST. Confirmation emails are going out now to everyone who got Glastonbury coach tickets this evening.”

Glastonbury organisers recently revealed this year’s headliners and first wave of acts to appear at the festival on Worthy Farm in Somerset.

Artist Billie Eilish, who is just 20-years-old and set to be the youngest ever headliner, will perform Friday, while former Beatles star Sir Paul McCartney will be the oldest ever headliner when he takes to the stage in the coveted slot on Saturday night.

The festival will be rounded up with a headline performance from US rapper Kendrick Lamar.
