Festival fans fight for Glastonbury standard tickets

Glastonbury Festival fans once again battled it out in the ticket resale yesterday (Sunday), this time for standard admission tickets, with tickets selling out in just over 20 minutes.

The resale offered festival fans the opportunity to purchase tickets that had been cancelled by previous owners, but like many other years, organisers did not reveal how many tickets were available.

The UK’s flagship music and arts festival will be returning this summer for the first time since 2019, after its 2020 and 2021 editions were cancelled during the pandemic. There was not a general sale for this year’s event, which is set to take place from June 22-26 at Worthy Farm in Somerset, as most attendees rolled their 2020 ticket to this year’s festival.

Glastonbury organisers tweeted: “The tickets in this morning’s resale have now all been sold. Our thanks to everyone who bought one, and sorry to those who missed out.”

There were issues surrounding orders, with some resale customers receiving confirmation emails with the tickets themselves showing up on the order.

See Tickets, Glastonbury’s only authorised ticket agent, said on Twitter: “We’re aware that a small number of Glastonbury resale customers have received their confirmation emails without the tickets showing in their order. We have the details of all these customers and we will be in touch to rectify the issue.”

Those wanting to attend Glastonbury also scrambled for cancelled or leftover ticket and coach travel packages last week. All packages sold out within 18 minutes of going on sale.
