The final round of Qatar 2022 ticket sales begins today with fans able to secure their place at this year’s FIFA World Cup finals.
A second random selection draw sales period for Qatar 2022 opened this morning (April 5) and will run until April 28. Some 800,000 tickets from 17 million applications were secured during the first sales phase. That phase took place before last week’s draw, which confirmed when and where the 32 qualifiers will play.
All tickets from the second phase will be allocated after the ticket application period has closed regardless of when the application was made. Fans will be notified of the outcome of their applications no sooner than May 31. FIFA added that if the number of tickets applied for exceeds the available ticket inventory for the domestic or international market, tickets will be allocated by a random selection draw process.
FIFA said fans can now, for the first time, request tickets to up to two matches per day at the beginning of the group stage. It said this was an “unprecedented benefit” of the tournament’s compact nature and short travel times between all eight stadiums.
Supporter tickets and conditional supporter tickets are now on offer for those who self-declare as followers of a certain competing country and want to sit with fellow fans of that team.
Fans will again be able to apply for individual match tickets and four-stadium ticket series, while FIFA also said that accessibility tickets will be available across all products.
In line with FIFA’s ticketing policy at recent editions of the World Cup, Qatar residents will continue to have access to Category 4 tickets, with prices starting at just QAR 40 each.
FIFA added that once fans have paid for their tickets, they will be able to browse accommodation and apply for their Hayya Card, which doubles as an entry permit for international fans travelling to Qatar for the tournament. Visa payment cards are the exclusive payment method accepted for residents of Qatar, while Visa and selected other payment cards are accepted for international fans.
FIFA said last week that the top 10 countries for sales so far include host nation Qatar, the US, England, Mexico, the UAE, Germany, India, Brazil, Argentina, and Saudi Arabia.
