Couple celebrate Parklife engagement with free tickets and paid honeymoon

Sacha Lord, co-creator of Manchester festival Parklife and The Warehouse Project, has offered a young couple free entry to the festival and venues for life, after their proposal at the event was ridiculed online.

The young couple celebrated their proposal on stage at Parklife, during a set from artist Young Filly on Saturday. The proposal went viral on social media, however some of the comments were not kind.

Lord lambasted the behaviour and comments from those trying to ruin the couple’s moment online.

He wrote across social media: “Yesterday [Saturday] an amazing moment happened as Parklife saw a proposal on stage from a young couple.

“Unfortunately, the internet reaction to two young people sharing a special moment was quite frankly vile.”

In response to the negativity online, Lord offered the couple not only free entry to Parklife and The Warehouse Project for life, but to also pay for their honeymoon.

He added: “I would like to find this couple and give them free entry to Parklife and The Warehouse Project for life and not only that, but to pay for their honeymoon, so that when they go away, I want them to sit there in the sun posting pictures to social media, knowing that those people who had a go at them are bitter, and they’re not there.”

This year’s Parklife line-up included performances from the likes of 50 Cent, Tyler, the Creator, Megan Thee Stallion, Lewis Capaldi and Chase & Status.
