Mobile tickets introduced at Leeds United’s Elland Road

Premier League club Leeds United has said that the upgrade of its new ticketing system has been completed, and that fans will now receive mobile tickets on their smartphones for the 2022-23 season.

The club also said that all 92 turnstiles at its home ground Elland Road have been upgraded to facilitate mobile ticket entry from next season.

Fans will now receive their season tickets and match tickets via an email from Leeds. There will be a link in the email to download season tickets or match tickets, with fans then able to save tickets to their Apple Wallet or Google Pay on their mobile phones.

The switch to mobile tickets follows the announcement in February that Leeds had teamed up with ticketing platform, SeatGeek.

At the time of the announcement, head of ticketing Katie Holmes said that improving the ability to purchase tickets on a mobile and the delivery of mobile tickets was an important part of the club’s digital transformation.

She said: “This is another key initiative to drive our digital transformation, improve speed of entry on matchdays, streamline efficient processing and reduce postage costs, ticket collection queues on matchdays and the overall paper-based processing and use across the club.”
