People on the Move: TEG, DEAG and more

We round up the latest movements from the ticketing ecosystem…

Luke Bould has been appointed as chief commercial officer at TEG, the owner of Ticketek.

Bould (pictured left) will be responsible for all of TEG’s commercial activity, working with all the group’s businesses to identify and drive growth opportunities globally. He will also oversee TEG’s communications and corporate affairs function.

Bould has over 25 years’ experience in sport and entertainment and previously held senior commercial roles at Cricket Australia and was chief commercial officer and chief marketing officer of Football Australia.

Bould said: “I am delighted to join TEG, a great Australian success story that has become one of the world’s top integrated live entertainment businesses. It is an exciting time for TEG, with enormous growth opportunities, so I am looking forward to leading the commercial development of the business.”

DEAG chief ticketing officer Moritz Schwenkow has seen his role expanded to incorporate the group’s wider technology brief.

DEAG said the decision to create the chief ticketing and technology officer position underscores the special importance of ticketing for its integrated business model and takes the advancing technologisation and digitalisation in the entertainment industry into account.

Besides DEAG’s entire ticketing business, the consolidation of all ticketing activities and the expansion into other European countries, Schwenkow will assume strategic responsibility for digitalisation and technology.

Schwenkow said: “We will continue to use new technologies such as blockchain technology and NFTs to further strengthen our position in the market and expand into new markets. This will enable us to continue to offer our customers first-class entertainment – digitally and locally.”

Kim Stone (centre) has been named president of UBS Arena and executive vice president of OVG East Coast.

Stone will be based in Belmont Park, New York, and oversee all UBS Arena business and building operations and be responsible for all OVG East Coast Owned & Operated properties, including Baltimore Arena, which is scheduled to open in February 2023.

As part of her new role with OVG, Stone will oversee and implement the strategic plan for UBS Arena and its surrounding area, drive profitability with a specific focus on premium sales, corporate sales, and event booking, and drive ticket sales for all events to a level that ranks UBS Arena among the top venues in the nation.

Stone said: “We will build upon our early success at UBS since its November 2021 opening and continue to reimagine what is possible in the vibrant New York Metro area and for OVG on the East Coast.”

Paciolan has announced the promotion of Christian Lewis to the role of chief revenue officer.

Lewis has been with Paciolan since 2013, most recently serving as the group’s senior vice-president of business development. In his new role, Lewis will continue to anchor the group’s business development efforts, looking to generate revenue, build partnerships, and grow its client list.

“Christian is a remarkable leader who develops meaningful relationships and helps our clients to realise their business goals,” said Kim Damron, Paciolan’s president and chief executive. “His passion for sports and love of our industry are instrumental to Paciolan’s success both now and in the future.”

Jack Butler (right) has been appointed head of partnerships at Seat Unique.

Butler is responsible for managing the partnerships team on a day-to-day basis to ensure that all partnerships are fully activated. He has six years of experience at venues including the Welsh Rugby Union and England Netball.
