Rapper Kanye West has pulled out of a headline performance at Rolling Loud festival, which is set to take place this weekend at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
In a statement provided to Variety, festival organisers said that rapper Kid Cudi would be replacing West – also known as Ye – as a headliner on the festival bill.
Rolling Loud co-founders Tariq Cherif and Matt Zingle said: “We were looking forward to Ye headlining Rolling Loud Miami 2022. We spent months working with him and his team on the performance.
“Unfortunately, Ye has decided that he will no longer be performing. This is the first time a headliner has ever pulled [out of] our show and though we don’t take it lightly, we wish him the best. We look forward to welcoming Kid Cudi as a headliner in Miami and we can’t wait to see what he has in store.”
Rolling Loud is set to begin on Friday with further performances from Kendrick Lamar, Gucci Mane, Dababy, 2 Chainz and Lil Uzi Vert.
The news comes following last week’s reports that West is facing legal action over unpaid fees for events.
The rapper is being sued for $7.1m (£6m/€7m) by Los Angeles-based production company Phantom Labs over claims of unpaid fees for events and other projects.
