Adele (pictured) has announced that her postponed Las Vegas residency will begin in November, 11 months after it was originally set to begin.
The singer wrote on Instagram: “Words can’t explain how ecstatic I am to finally be able to announce these rescheduled shows. I truly was heartbroken to have to cancel them.
“But after what feels like an eternity of figuring out logistics for the show that I really want to deliver, and knowing it can happen, I’m more excited than ever! Now I know for some of you it was a horrible decision on my part, and I will always be sorry for that, but I promise you it was the right one.”
Adele cancelled her intimate performances, Weekends with Adele, at the Colosseum at Caesars palace just 24 hours before the first concert was due to start in January.
The residency will now run from November 18 through to March 25, 2023. In addition to the 24 rescheduled shows, eight new performances have also been announced.
Adele added: “To be with you in such an intimate space every week has been what I’ve most been looking forward to and I’m going to give you the absolute best of me.
“Thank you for your patience, I love you.”
The UK is set to host next year’s Eurovision in place of the 2022 winners, Ukraine, which is currently embroiled in a war with Russia.
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the BBC have agreed that the BBC will host next year’s contest, as it is not safe and secure enough to do so in Ukraine. However, there will be a heavy Ukrainian theme to celebrate the country. Ukraine will also automatically qualify for the Grand Final, alongside the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
The BBC will now begin its search for the next host city, with reports that Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester have shown an interest.
Tim Davie, BBC director-general, said: “It is a matter of great regret that our colleagues and friends in Ukraine are not able to host the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest. Being asked to host the largest and most complex music competition in the world is a great privilege.
“The BBC is committed to making the event a true reflection of Ukrainian culture alongside showcasing the diversity of British music and creativity. The BBC will now begin the process to find a host city to partner with us on delivering one of the most exciting events to come to the UK in 2023.”
Swedish House Mafia have cancelled several shows on their ‘Paradise Again’ tour in the US.
The trio, which includes Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso, cancelled five US shows at Orlando’s Amway Center, Madison Square Gardens in New York, TD Garden in Boston, Verizon Arena in Washington DC and Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
After a lengthy almost decade-long hiatus, Swedish House Mafia returned last year.
