Live events and music fans travelling to festivals in Spain could be asked to prove that they are able to spend at least €100 (£84/$102) a day while in the country.
Rules set by the Spanish Government have said that Brits travelling to Spain would need to show proof of a return or onward ticket, and enough money for their stay.
As the UK has now left the EU, British travellers will be treated as citizens from ‘third countries’, which is different to those from the EU.
Travellers on holiday or attending Spanish live music festivals like Primavera Sound and Mad Cool may also have to show proof of accommodation.
The Interior Ministry’s requirements for entry says that “the minimum amount to be credited is €100 per person per day, with a minimum of €900 or its legal equivalent in foreign currency”.
The Ministry also said that tourists will have to “prove sufficient economic means for the time you intend to stay in Spain, or be able to legally obtain such means”.
The UK Foreign Office states that British visitors or holiday-makers may need to “show a return or onward ticket”, “show you have enough money for your stay” and to “show proof of accommodation for your stay” via a hotel booking confirmation.
The rule has been in place since January 1 of this year.
