Scottish Rugby and digital ticket distribution service provider, Tixserve, have announced a multi-year partnership that will see digital tickets being used by supporters to enter BT Murrayfield stadium.
Launched as part of Scottish Rugby’s digital transformation to drive improved security, access, sustainability and supporter experience on match days, the new Tixserve-powered Scottish Rugby Ticketing App will be used to deliver all Scotland match tickets, starting with the Autumn Nations Series that kicks off later this month.
The process for buying tickets remains the same, with supporters continuing to buy their tickets as normal via the Scottish Rugby Online Ticket Office on the Ticketmaster platform. However, from this season their tickets will be delivered to the Scottish Rugby Ticketing App, powered by Tixserve.
This streamlined ticket delivery method is designed to not only improve ticket security and ease of access, but also enhance supporters’ matchday experience. As well as housing their match ticket to be scanned at the stadium, the app will also include maps to the stadium, a seating plan and other event-related content that will be updated in the days leading up to each game.
The 2022 Autumn Nations Series will see all three of the UK’s rugby unions, Scottish Rugby, England Rugby and Welsh Rugby using digital ticketing powered by Tixserve at BT Murrayfield, Twickenham Stadium and Principality Stadium. The Tixserve-powered white label digital fulfilment solution will deliver not only tickets for general admission to these stadia but sponsors and visiting rugby teams will also be distributing their allocated tickets digitally this season to reap the compelling benefits of the Tixserve solution.
Kerry Halliday, head of group ticketing and customer engagement at Scottish Rugby, said: “Introducing Tixserve’s digital ticketing solution for match ticket delivery this season was a natural next step for us in our digital transformation journey. After a lot of time and dedication, we are delighted to be able to launch and further enhance our engagement with our fans.”
Patrick Kirby, managing director of Ireland-headquartered Tixserve, said: “The Tixserve team relishes the opportunity to partner with Scottish Rugby. I would like to thank Kerry Halliday and her colleagues at Scottish Rugby for their professional role in the timely implementation of the onboarding process ahead of the upcoming Autumn Nations Series matches at BT Murrayfield.
“The contract with Scottish Rugby follows on from the successful scaling up of the Tixserve platform in 2021/22 to distribute millions of tickets securely and reliably for our existing clients in the sport and music sectors in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Tixserve continues to win market share by responding to the business needs of our clients using proven and sustainable technologies – watch out for further announcements of contract wins.”
