Music festival When We Were Young, which is presented by live entertainment giant Live Nation, was forced to cancel its Saturday performances due to severe weather.
The announcement was made by organisers just one hour before doors were scheduled to open at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds.
In an announcement on Twitter, organisers said: “When We Were Young Festival organisers have spent the last several days proactively preparing the festival grounds for a windy Saturday.
“The National Weather Service has now upgraded their Saturday forecast to a High Wind Warning, including dangerous 30-40mph sustained winds with potential 60mph gusts.
“Under advisement of the National Weather Service and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, we have no other choice than to cancel today (Saturday)’s When We Were Young Festival. The safety of our fans, artists and staff will always be our top priority.”

Despite the cancellation on Saturday, the weather calmed down to allow yesterday’s events to take place with organisers also confirming that next Saturday’s date will also go ahead.
The statement also said: “Ticket-holders who purchased their tickets directly through the festival’s ticketing company, Front Gate Tickets, for Saturday, October 22nd’s When We Were Young Festival will receive a refund in as little as 30 days to the original form of payment.”
Headliners for the festival included Paramore, My Chemical Romance, Bring Me The Horizon, Jimmy Eat World, Brights Eyes, the Linda Lindas, Manchester Orchestra and more.
