The Bowery Presents, a regional partner of AEG Presents and concert promoter, has announced the acquisition and opening of a new venue in New York.
Racket is located in the area of Chelsea, was formerly the Highline Ballroom and will have a capacity of 650.
The new intimate venue is set to open in early 2023 and join Bowery’s five other New York locations.
These include the 650-capacity Music Hall in Williamsburg; the 1,350-capacity Webster Hall; the 1,800-capacity Brooklyn Steel; the 3,000-capacity Terminal 5 and Forest Hills Stadium, which can hold 13,000.
Bowery also books and promotes concerts in other locations such as theatres, parks and arenas across the region. Racket will be available to hire for private events.
“We are excited to welcome Racket to The Bowery Presents family. Racket is very much the sister venue to Music Hall of Williamsburg: a fundamental building block for us in Manhattan, and an important addition to Bowery’s commitment to both artist development and amazing experiences for our fans and partners,” said The Bowery Presents founder John Moore and his partner Jim Glancy in a joint statement.
