People on the move: ASM Global, TEG Europe and more…

We round up the latest movements from the ticketing sector and associated industries…

Alex Simmonds has joined TEG Europe as head of UK touring and special projects. Simmonds spent eight years at SJM where he booked the C2C Country Music Festival and has worked with brands such as Disney, Studio Ghibli, BBC, Sony and Amazon.

In his new role, Simmonds will lead the promoting team, helping TEG to grow in the UK across all formats of entertainment.

“We are very excited to have Alex join the team. I’ve been a big fan of his for a long time and having worked with him booking C2C Festival I know he is going to make a huge contribution to TEG Europe,” said managing director Toby Leighton-Pope.

Simmonds added: “I’m thrilled to be joining TEG Europe, Toby and I have been friends for a while and I’m looking forward to working with him and the whole team at TEG.”

Jonathan Lomax has become managing director of Solo Music Agency, where he will work with owners Caroline and John Giddings to manage the agency and the Isle of Wight festival.

Lomax was previously managing director of public relations firm Blakeney, where he worked with live industry trade association, LIVE.

Live entertainment and venue management company ASM Global has appointed Patrick Lynch (pictured left) as senior vice-president, private events, in the US. Lynch has over 20 years of sales leader experience, and has most recently worked as head of sales and customer success for e-commerce and marketing platform, Mercato.

Arich Berghammer, senior vice-president of revenue and growth, said: “Patrick brings unmatched strategic vision that is in sync with our ambitious growth plan for this space and advancing our growth platform to increase opportunities throughout the US.”

ASM Global has also named Gary Jacobus (pictured right) as president, business development, to oversee the company’s expanding business development and account-retention footprint across the Americas.

“Gary’s lengthy blue-chip track record as a senior business development and sales leader directing talented teams to effectively grow businesses is invaluable. His deep relationships across the sports and entertainment ecosystem ensures ASM’s leadership position in our industry,” said president and chief executive Ron Bension.

Jacobus was part of the National Football League (NFL)’s global marketing partnerships programme; he headed up IMG’s global sports and entertainment corporate consulting division, and during his time with the National Basketball Association (NBA), secured a major partnership with Sprint.
