Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes have become patrons of the Music Venue Trust (MVT), and have shown their support for the UK’s grassroots music venues with three special shows at The Underworld in Camden.
The band have joined other grassroots music venue advocates including Sir Paul McCartney, the recently announced Tom Grennan, Frank Turner, Tim Burgess and more.
In an interview with MVT, Carter explained that The Underworld in Camden influenced the band’s sound.
He said: “It’s about the sticky floor atmosphere of sweat dripping from the ceilings and bodies flying from wherever, and the excitement but also the fear of being in a crowd, it’s about the danger of live music in the best possible way.”
The 500-capacity Camden venue also helped to kickstart Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes’ career. To celebrate the release of their most recent album ‘Sticky’ and to show support for grassroots venues, the band will play three shows.
“It’s important to us as a band to pay respect and come back,” added Carter.
Guitarist Dean Richardson said: “People help you on your way forward and a lot of people just keep going forward, not really acknowledging it. We would have supported on this stage many times before we got to headline it, so we’re gonna have some great bands come and support on this.”
