LIV Golf adds new venues, Adelaide event sees record ticket sales

LIV Golf has added three new global venues that will host tournaments as part of its 2023 schedule.

Mayakoba’s El Camaleón Golf Course in Mexico, Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore and Real Club Valderrama in Spain will all  join the previously announced The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide as hosts.

Following the announcement of the Adelaide event, LIV Golf revealed that the series’ first tournament in Australia had sparked record ticket sales.

More than half of the entire capacity had sold out in just over a week, with approximately 35,500 tickets sold. This consisted of 32,500 grounds tickets and 3,000 hospitality tickets.

Saudi Arabia-backed LIV Golf said that of the total, 25,000 had been sold within the first 48 hours after tickets became available for the 2023 event in Adelaide.

Fans from South Africa, Thailand, Singapore, Fiji, the US, Canada and more all secured tickets for the South Australia event in April. LIV Golf has attracted several high-profile players such as Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson and Cameron Smith.

Grounds passes for the events in Mayakoba, Singapore and Spain are now available, including special Early Birdie pricing for single-day passes and three-day passes, as well as the ability to register for hospitality packages.

LIV Golf chief executive and commissioner Greg Norman said: “LIV Golf is truly a global league dedicated to expanding the sport throughout the world, and these destinations for the league’s 2023 launch showcase our commitment to tournament play at the highest level.

“These venues have played host to signature moments in golf, and we’re excited to build new traditions for the sport while delivering a first-class fan experience at some of the world’s best courses.”
