The O2 to host WWE’s Money In The Bank

WWE’s Money In The Bank is heading to London, more specifically The O2 (pictured), marking the wrestling entertainment company’s first premium live event to be held in the UK capital in over two decades.

The event will take place July 1 and will feature some of WWE’s biggest wrestling stars. It will be the first time Money In The Bank ladder matches will take place in the UK. Each winner will receive a briefcase containing a contract for a championship match at any time and any location of their choosing, over the next year.

Dan Ventrelle, executive vice-president of talent at WWE, said: “The O2 is one of the world’s premier venues and the perfect home for Money In The Bank. We are excited to bring one of our ‘Big 5’ events to the UK and look forward to welcoming the WWE Universe to London on July 1.”

Christian D’Acuña, senior programming director at The O2, added: “We are honoured to be hosting the first ever Money In The Bank event taking place in the UK here at The O2. We’re looking forward to welcoming back WWE fans to The O2 this summer for an unforgettable night with some of WWE’s biggest superstars.”

The announcement follows the success of Cardiff’s Clash At The Castle in September last year, which was the first major WWE stadium show to be held in the UK since 1992. The event was held in the Welsh capital’s Principality Stadium.

Clash At The Castle broke numerous WWE records at the time including the largest European gate ever, becoming the most watched international premium live event in WWE history and best-selling merchandise for a non-WrestleMania event.

Official WWE Money In The Bank Priority Passes are available through On Location.
