Madison Square Garden Entertainment has promoted Josephine Vaccarello to the position of executive vice-president, live.
Vaccarello (pcitured left) previously served as senior vice-president, MSG live and business operations, where she played a role in overseeing strategy and business operations that helped drive growth.
In the new role, Vaccarello will lead MSG Entertainment’s live entertainment bookings business – which includes concerts, family shows, comedy, performing arts, venue tours, and special events – across all of the company’s performance venues, including New York’s Madison Square Garden. The group said she will focus on optimising the use of MSG Entertainment’s venues and developing strategies that maximise growth by introducing new signature events, conceptualising artist residencies, and delivering unique experiences for artists and fans.
Vaccarello said: “Throughout my 25 years at this company, I’ve had unique opportunities to grow and evolve my career within the organisation, and I’m honoured to take on this elevated leadership role, particularly as MSG Entertainment expands its live entertainment business.
“We have a lot of big ideas for the future that will make an indelible mark on live entertainment and I’m looking forward to continuing to create iconic moments with artists for our fans in New York, Chicago and soon, Las Vegas.”
Two Circles has announced that Laura Andriani (centre) has been promoted to senior vice-president of consulting at the New York City-headquartered sports marketing and data technology company.
Andriani has served as vice-president at Two Circles since 2020 focused on helping leading sports properties navigate rapidly changing consumer behaviour to develop new media models. Two Circles said Andriani uses a mix of marketing strategy and data analytics to help sports rightsholders and governing bodies drive revenue and improve their direct relationships with fans through trailblazing D2C models. Her work includes FIFA+, the D2C streaming product of world football’s governing body and the biggest sports streaming platform launched in the last 12 months.
Andriani said: “Being a part of the Two Circles business since 2020 has been the opportunity of a lifetime. There’s a uniqueness about our business that is a product of our team’s vast knowledge of the sports landscape combined with an integrity and team-centric approach that supercharges all that we do. I’m thrilled to take the next step in helping build our organisation and take our clients’ ambitions to new heights.”
The All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club (AELTC), which hosts the Wimbledon tennis grand slam event, has elected Deborah Jevans (right) as vice chair, set to succeed current chair Ian Hewitt at the end of the 2023 championships.
Former professional tennis player Jevans has held several high-level leadership positions in sports business. She is currently senior independent non-executive director of the English Football League (EFL) and a trustee of the Invictus Games Foundation and EFL Trust. She is set to be the first ever female chair of the AELTC.
Hewitt said: “Debbie has a valuable combination of skills and experience gained over a long career in sport, both as a former professional tennis player and through a number of leadership roles within high-profile sports organisations as well as her many years of service on the club committee. This equips her well for the role and I look forward, as planned, to handing over as chair after The Championships 2023 and wish Debbie all success as we continue with our ambitions.”
Lynn Cannon has been named as the new executive director of the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Illinois.
Cannon previously served as general manager of the Capital Region MU Health Care Amphitheater in Jefferson City. Past experience includes serving as part of the management team that opened the United Center in Chicago in 1994, and a stint as director of guest relations and entertainment for Arlington Park Racecourse.
Steve Peters, president of VenuWorks, said: “We are thrilled to relocate Lynn to Skokie to lead the Center’s dedicated team. Lynn has proven experience in executive venue management, marketing, booking, and operations. We are confident she will be a strong leader who will make a positive impact at the Center and in the Skokie community.”
Theatr Clwyd has appointed acclaimed Welsh theatre makers Francesca Goodridge and Daniel Lloyd as the organisation’s new Interim Associate Directors.
Goodridge was one of the first recipients of the Carne Traineeship for Directors in Wales, while Lloyd is a regular performer in Theatr Clwyd pantomimes and was associate director on this year’s Robin Hood. The pair have collaborated on numerous projects including a new musical currently in development at Theatr Clwyd, a regional arts centre in Flintshire.
The pair will focus on supporting and developing the artistic work of Theatr Clwyd including award winning community outreach work as well as leading on specific projects
In a joint statement, they said: “It’s a hugely exciting time to join the theatre, at a time where the organisation is embracing new and promising change with its huge capital redevelopment programme and a new artistic director on the horizon.”
