AMC Theatres is introducing a new ticket pricing structure that will differ depending on seating position.
Sightline at AMC’s US cinemas joins a number of other entertainment venues that offer different prices for different views, and will include seats in Value Sightline, Standard Sightline and Preferred Sightline sections.
Standard Sightline seats will be available for the traditional cost of ticket; Value Sightline seats are primarily in the front row of the cinema and are available at a lower price; Preferred Sightline seats are mostly in the middle of the cinema and will cost slightly more than standard seats.
Sightline at AMC will be applied to showtimes after 4pm at participating locations.
Eliot Hamlisch, executive vice-president and chief marketing officer, said: “Sightline at AMC more closely aligns AMC’s seat pricing approach to that of many other entertainment venues, offering experienced-based pricing and another way for moviegoers to find value at the movies.
“While every seat at AMC delivers an amazing moviegoing experience, we know there are some moviegoers who prioritise their specific seat and others who prioritise value moviegoing. Sightline at AMC accommodates both sentiments to help ensure that our guests have more control over their experience, so that every trip to an AMC is a great one.”
