Swiss ski resort extends Catalate deal to utilise dynamic pricing

Arosa Lenzerheide, a ski resort in Switzerland, has extended its partnership with Catalate, a pricing and e-commerce platform for attractions.

The ski resort is located in the Graubünden region of Switzerland and has signed another three-year contract with Catalate to continue utilising the platform’s dynamic pricing and e-commerce offerings.

Arosa Lenzerheide originally partnered with Catalate to increase its online revenue overall and incentivise advanced ticket sales through the company’s dynamic pricing services, and cloud store e-commerce solution.

In the first year of the partnership, the Swiss resort reported that its online revenue grew significantly with the total percentage of sales for one to 14-day ski tickets, four-hour and afternoon passes increasing year-on-year from 25% in 2017-18 season to 73% of revenue in the 2020-21 season.

Arosa Lenzerheide sells most of its tickets online, from ski, beginner and snowpark, to night sledding and even hiking and bear sanctuary tickets.

The resort begins selling dynamically priced tickets for the winter as early as the summer to secure advanced bookings, reducing the impact of factors that influence demand throughout the season.

Catalate has also partnered with other European snow resorts, including locations in Chamonix in France, and Pitztal and Kaunertal in Austria.

When Arosa Bergbahnen, which operates the resort, first partnered with Catalate in 2017, chief executive Philipp Holenstein said: “We chose to partner with Catalate because of their proven track record of increasing pre-sales for ticketing businesses and pioneering dynamic pricing used by hundreds of ski areas.”

More recently, Helonstein added: “Over the past six seasons Catalate has proven to be a reliable partner that really understands dynamic pricing in the ski industry.”
