English Championship football club Birmingham City has introduced a new ticket functionality that allows disabled supporters to purchase tickets online.

Disabled supporters will now be able to buy match tickets online for home and away fixtures. Previously, these tickets could only be purchased via the ticket office or over the phone.

The club implemented the new functionality after listening to feedback from supporters. Fans can log into their account and purchase match tickets for themselves and their companion for fixtures.

Owain Davies, chief executive of charity Level Playing Field, said: “We welcome the news that Birmingham City has worked with disabled fans to ensure their new online ticketing platform is inclusive and accessible.

“On behalf of disabled fans, we thank the club and staff for providing this essential service. Implementing this new online ticketing system is a positive milestone for equality at Birmingham.”

Disabled supporters that are not currently registered with the club will need to contact the ticket office to create on account. Training sessions are also available for supporters that would like to learn how to use the new functionality.
