People on the move: Ticketmaster, Everton and more…


We round up the latest movements from the ticketing sector and associated industries.

Ticketmaster is recruiting a director of social, who will be tasked with “shaping the brand narrative for Ticketmaster in the US and ensure impactful fan-facing communication”.

The post pays up to $175,000 per year with the successful applicant to be based in either Los Angeles or New York City.

Ticketmaster, which has faced criticism from fans, politicians and regulators in recent months, said the ideal candidate is “Imaginative. Brave. Resilient”.

The director of social will be the creative lead for social content strategy and have responsibility for the content calendar and execution across all social media channels for Ticketmaster across North America. They will be tasked with hands-on creative concepting, asset development, and creative process management across social while collaborating with integrated marketing and digital marketing teams.

Ticketmaster said: “We’re looking for an energetic and dynamic thinker and motivator who has a strong mix of creative and marketing acumen. You’ll bring high level thought leadership and storytelling skills that combines commercial goals and assets with what’s happening in sports, music, and popular culture to solve brand’s business challenges in collaboration with the larger Marketing team and Marketplace Org.”

The Association of Event Venues (AEV) has announced that Julie Driscoll, chief executive of Olympia London, has been appointed to its Board.

Driscoll, who has previously served on the boards of the Association of Event Organisers (AEO) and the Event Industry Alliance (EIA), was appointed as CEO of Olympia London in 2022.

Prior to her current role, Driscoll was divisional managing director for retail, manufacturing and engineering at Hyve Group plc where she was also the AEO chair and board member of the EIA.

Driscoll said: “The Association of Event Venues is a vibrant, innovative and dynamic community which I am thrilled to be part of.”

Jeff Provost has been named managing director of the Legacy Theatre in Connecticut.

In addition to a New York City tenure off and on Broadway, Provost has worked for many of Connecticut’s major theatres. After holding management positions in the non-profit arts and commercial entertainment industries, Provost joined Red 7 Media in Norwalk where he helped launch the Event Marketing Institute. He founded PRO Management LLC in 2015 where he worked with a wide variety of clients including the Experiential Designers & Producers Association.

Provost said: “I’m looking forward to helping drive the organisation into a post-pandemic surge of artistic creativity with the continued support of many generous people on the Connecticut shoreline and beyond.”

Crissie Rushton has been appointed as general manager at AEG Presents’ The Halls Wolverhampton theatre, where she will be responsible for overseeing all operations at the historic venue.

Rushton has worked with the venue for more than two decades in various capacities, having previously held roles such as head of visitor experience, visitor economy manager and duty events manager. In her new role as general manager, Rushton will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the venue’s operations and identifying potential new partners and content.

She said: “As the venue prepares to reopen its doors in June, I am excited to play a role in this next chapter as we re-establish The Halls as the home of live entertainment in the West Midlands for generations to come.”

Ben Griffiths has joined Premier League football club Everton as ticketing systems specialist.

Griffiths previously held the position of ticketing manager at Wycombe Wanderers.

He said: “It’s an exciting time ahead at the club and looking forward to seeing what can be achieved.”

FORM, the JV of independent UK promoters Rockfeedback and One Inch Badge in collaboration with Kilimanjaro, has hired Louisa Robinson as a promoter.

Robinson originally joined One Inch Badge as an office assistant and with experience as a venue booker at venues like Guildford Boileroom.

Director Dan Monsell said: “We want to look to try and embody and support the next generation in our industry, and as we look to grow we’re delighted to be looking to do this with Louisa, who is very much this.”
