AEG Presents has been tackling ticket scalpers for an upcoming performance from DJ Skrillex, by reclaiming tickets and reselling them to fans through the Fair AXS ticketing platform.
The platform is AEG’s own fan verification system and requires fans to register in advance for tickets in order to discourage scalpers.
For the Skrillex performance at Red Rocks (pictured) amphitheatre later this month, AEG said: “Our team worked extensively to address fraudulent activity during the on-sale for Skrillex at Red Rocks on April 29, and were able to recover a significant number of tickets. To offer an equitable release of these tickets, we are offering fans the opportunity to register for tickets through Fair AXS.”

AEG Presents co-president and senior talent buyer Don Strausberg told Billboard that after the entertainment company scraped the sales data, it found that some buyers had purchased multiple tickets, exceeding the four-ticket limit and violating the terms of service for AEG-owned AXS.
These tickets were then cancelled, refunded to the original buyer and put back on sale through the Fair AXS platform.
Strausberg said that it was “time consuming” to comb through all sales but more people were asking for this, and that it is something AEG does without fail for nearly all large concerts. Strausberg added that the scale of unauthorised activity happening with the Skrillex show at the 9,545-capacity Colorado venue was larger than normal.
Music fans are also calling on AEG to do the same for shows from music producer Pretty Lights.
Billboard reported that AXS ticketed 18 of the 24 shows on the Pretty Lights tour, totalling roughly 60,000 tickets.
