Goldenvoice has extended its partnership with the 4,500-capacity Santa Barbara Bowl until 2032.
Goldenvoice, which is a subsidiary of AEG Presents, has been the exclusive event promotion company of the Santa Barbara Bowl since 2016. The venue is managed by the not-for-profit Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation.
The Santa Barbara Bowl was built in 1936 and has hosted artists such as Bob Marley, James Taylor, Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, Radiohead, Depeche Mode, Katy Perry and more.
Goldenvoice senior vice-president Moss Jacobs will continue to book the venue.
Jacobs said: “The Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation has been a vital partner. Helping Goldenvoice to foster incredible talent at one of the finest outdoor venues in the world.
“The Foundation understands the significance of partnering with a substantial national organisation to benefit this amazing local community. This contract will allow us to build on the foundation of past great events to improve the already amazing stature of the Santa Barbara Bowl.”
Rick Boller, Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation executive director, added: “We’re thrilled to sign this booking agreement with Goldenvoice for another decade. The relationship has allowed us to grow the organisation and continue to bring amazing programming to the community, making the extension a natural fit. AEG Presents, Goldenvoice, and Moss Jacobs’ commitment to the venue and to concert programming that matches the diversity of our community are always at the forefront of this partnership.”
Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation’s mission is to continue to renovate and maintain the venue, and through local individuals, foundations and corporations, over $43m (£34m/€39m) has been invested in capital improvements.
These include the signature Pavilion production roof, upgraded ADA seating areas, audience amenities and backstage facilities.
To ensure long-term sustainability and positive local impact, the Bowl also supports and donates resources to youth and performing arts education throughout Santa Barbara County. Over $10m has been dedicated to these programmes over the last two decades.
