Madrid’s Mad Cool Festival reveals new location for 2023

Madrid’s Mad Cool Festival is set to move to a new location for the 2023 edition of the event.

The festival will host performances from artists such as The 1975, Robbie Williams and Liam Gallagher and will now take place in the Spanish capital’s Villaverde District. It is hoped the move will attract increased tourism and drive the creation of new jobs in a bid to transform the region into a cultural hub.

Mad Cool’s new location will also enable easier access for festival attendees, with 185,000 square metres of space holding eight stages.

The festival is set to run for three days from July 6-8.

Further acts set to perform include Black Keys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lizzo, Mumford and Sons, Queens of the Stone Age, Ava Max, Sam Smith, Nova Twins, Lil Nas X, Franz Ferdinand, Jamie XX, Primal Scream, Paolo Nutini and Machine Gun Kelly.

Last year’s line-up featured the likes of Metallica, Twenty One Pilots, The Killers, Muse and Kings of Leon.

The festival was founded in 2016 and originally took place in Madrid’s Caja Mágica (The Magic Box), before moving to an open-air space in the Valdebebas region of the city.
