Sphere debuts “stunning” new camera system
Sphere Entertainment has announced the launch of Sphere Studios, dedicated to developing the next generation of original immersive entertainment exclusively for Sphere through cutting-edge technology, tools and production facilities.
The first of the Studios’ immersive innovations includes Big Sky – an ultra-high resolution camera system created to capture the stunning images and video required for the world’s highest resolution LED screen at the new Sphere venue in Las Vegas.
Developed in-house at Sphere Studios’ research and development labs, the group said every aspect of Big Sky represents a significant advancement on current state-of-the-art cinema camera systems, including the largest single sensor in commercial use capable of capturing incredibly detailed, large-format images.
The Big Sky system boasts the world’s sharpest cinematic lenses capable of delivering the unparalleled edge-to-edge optical requirements for Sphere’s 16K x 16K immersive display plane.
Espanyol overhaul through naming rights partnership
Ticketing technology developer Stage Front is seeking to help RCD Espanyol overhaul fan experience after becoming the naming rights holder for the Spanish club’s stadium.
Stage Front Stadium will bear the name of the Maryland-based group, which is a partner of LaLiga North America, Front Row Motorsports, Matchroom Boxing and ONE Championship.
Stage Front said: “Stage Front will contribute all its knowledge to improve the ticketing service, as well as the Stadium’s VIP experience, both on matchday and for the rest of the events that take place in the facility.
“The agreement goes beyond football and includes a strategic collaboration for Stage Front to energise and make the stadium facilities profitable, positioning it as a reference ground for shows and events on a global scale. At the same time, Stage Front will provide the stadium with the latest technology that will allow it to face this new stage.”
Glastonbury and TikTok’s charity drive
TikTok LIVE and Glastonbury Festival are teaming up on a project that will benefit the latter’s charity partners, Oxfam and WaterAid.
TikTok have created four brand new gifts to celebrate Glastonbury Festival 2023, available through TikTok LIVE. TikTok LIVE allows users to send and receive these specifically created virtual gifts during a LIVE video.
Festival themed Ribbon Tower, hats, crowds and flags are all available for the TikTok community to send from the LIVE gift panel, with a donation made from TikTok to Oxfam and WaterAid for every gift sent. The campaign will run to Thursday, June 15.
The more gifts that are sent during a creator’s live stream, the more money TikTok will donate. The top three creators will also win two tickets each to Glastonbury Festival, joining thousands of others at Worthy Farm.
Real platform updates for virtual tours
Beeyonder, the platform for live and interactive virtual tours, has announced new updates to its platform that are designed to enhance the user experience.
