Over four million attempt to purchase tickets for Taylor Swift Australia shows

A record-breaking four million people across Sydney and Melbourne attempted to secure tickets to see Taylor Swift during the Frontier Touring member pre-sale.

A spokesperson from Ticketek Australia said that prior to the onsale this morning, over 800,000 fans were in the lounge waiting to secure tickets for the singer’s Eras Tour, which is another record for the ticketing platform.

There were more than half a billion bot attempts which were successfully deterred, according to Ticketek.

Tickets for the Frontier pre-sale for Sydney were officially sold out by 2pm after going on sale at 10am, while pre-sale tickets for Melbourne were sold out by 4pm local time after going on sale at 2pm. More tickets will become available in Friday’s general public onsale.

The spokesperson added: “There is no doubt that there are going to be many disappointed fans given the demand for tickets. We are encouraging all fans to follow our helpful tips to ensure their best chance at securing tickets, and to not purchase tickets through unauthorised resellers.”

Ticketek also reminded Taylor Swift fans that queuing is in place to offer fair access for all fans, and that they must remain in the Lounge page and to not refresh their browser. The page itself will refresh frequently to allow fans through to make a purchase.

Some 250,000 fans will be able to watch Swift’s three Sydney shows at Accor Stadium, while the two Melbourne shows at the MCG will be able to welcome 200,000 fans.
