People on the move: TRG Arts, AEG Europe and more…


We round up the latest movements from the ticketing sector and associated industries…

Arts management consultancy TRG Arts has appointed Tony Followell (pictured right) as managing director, UK and Europe.

Followell will be responsible for strategy and execution of the company’s vision, and financial and relational goals across the region.

Before joining TRG Arts, Followell was a digital strategy consultant with Orchestras Live, and has previously advised the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Science Museum Group on commercial, brand and digital strategies.

Followell was also part of the senior management team with the Royal Opera House (ROH) for over nine years, where he founded the ROH media department before leading its broadcast and distribution team.

TRG chief executive Jill Robinson said: “This is a pivotal time for TRG Arts’ work with arts and cultural organisations in helping them to reimagine and transform their thinking and operations to better fulfill their missions to their communities. Tony’s proven commercial acumen, creative vision and strategic leadership ability make him the perfect fit to join our expanding organisation in supporting the sector.”

Venue owner and promoter AEG Europe has brought in Kylie Taylor (pictured left)in the newly formed role of vice-president of communications.

Prior to joining AEG Europe, Taylor spent almost 12 years with visual media company Getty Images, and was most recently in the role of global corporate communications senior director.

In her new role, Taylor will oversee all aspects of external and internal communications for AEG Europe’s events and venues, including The O2 Arena in London, the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg and AccorHotels Arena in Paris. She will also look after communications for festivals BST Hyde Park and All Points East.

Elsewhere, Nick Fenton (pictured middle) has started a new position as commercial manager for See Tickets UK.

Fenton has previously held roles as senior business development manager for ticketing app FIXR, and senior commercial partnerships manager for The National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham. Before that, Fenton held numerous roles with The Ticket Factory, which is the NEC Group’s official box office.

Tiago Maia has been appointed as the managing director of Move Concerts’ team in Brazil.

Maia started his career in media and communications with roles at Trip publishing house and RBS Communication Group, where he worked as general manager of events and new business. After five years at the RBS Group, Maia became chief executive of the Novo Brasil Group, an operator of night clubs, beach clubs and parties in the south of Brazil.

In 2019, Maiai joined the board of DC Set Group, as head of sales and business development. The alliance between the biggest independent concert promoter Move Coverts and entertainment company DC Set Group resulted in taking charge of the company’s executive directorship in Brazil.

After almost five years with ticket resale marketplace StubHub, Akshay Khanna has moved on to become a co-founder and chief executive of the North American side of Jackpot(.com) – a venture-backed start-up in the online lottery ticket space.

Khanna wrote on LinkedIn: “After an incredible four and a half years at StubHub, today marks the end of the journey. During my time at StubHub, we lived through unprecedented times in the live event industry, and I am eternally grateful to have learned an amazing amount, and to have grown both personally and professionally, through my experiences at the organisation.”
