BST Hyde Park sells 530,000 tickets


American Express presents BST Hyde Park sold 530,000 tickets across its nine shows and three weekends in London, and attracted 600,000 visitors.

Music fans were treated to performances from major global artists including Adele, who performed for two nights and The Rolling Stones, who also headlined for two nights. Sir Elton John also performed, as well as Eagles, Duran Duran and Pearl Jam, who performed for two nights.

Support acts also included the likes of Stereophonics, Pixies, Johnny Marr, Cat Power, Laura Mvula, Phoebe Bridgers and others.

It is the first time BST Hyde Park has returned following two years of cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event ran during the weekends between Friday, June 24 and Sunday, July 10.

BST Open House, which was a free to access programme of events between the weekends at Hyde Park attracted a further 70,000 people. Attendees were able to enjoy food, drink, outdoor cinema, a live HIIT workout with celebrity fitness coach Joe Wicks and more.

Chief executive of AEG European Festivals, Jim King, said: “Like everyone in the festival business and across live music we are so happy to be back doing what we love and seeing music fans experiencing these great shows.

“The calibre of artists we have had in Hyde Park was incredible with so many outstanding performances. The demand for tickets was huge and we are very proud to have sold out the series.

“My thanks goes out to the fans, the artists and everyone who works so hard behind the scenes to make BST Hyde Park such a special event.”
