University of Tennessee smashes new season ticket sales record and predictions

The University of Tennessee has smashed its new season ticket sales goal for its American football team ahead of the 2022 campaign.

Tennessee Athletics has sold a total of 16,781 new season tickets, a 168% increase on its goal of 10,000 new season tickets.

This is also more than double Tennessee’s previous high of 7,502 new season ticket sales leading into the 2015 campaign.

In total, the university has sold 58,871 tickets for the new season as of August 3, which is 5% higher than its targeted goal of 56,000.

Tennessee vice-chancellor and director of athletics Danny White said: “Vol Nation has made an extraordinarily strong statement about their excitement for this team.

“We were optimistic that we could reach our Rise Glorious season-ticket goal of 56,000 by September 1, but we’ve sold close to 17,000 new season-tickets to push us past that goal with still a month left until kickoff.

“There are very few fan bases worldwide capable of delivering that rate of growth. That unwavering commitment and support from our fans sends an extremely powerful message to our current players—along with the country’s top recruits—about the possibilities and opportunities that exist for student-athletes here at Tennessee.”

Premium options have almost sold out and limited season ticket inventory remains available.

Tennessee kicks off its season against Ball State University on September 1.
