Wolverhampton music venue, The Robin, has partnered with DEAG-owned ticketing company Gigantic.
The Robin has hosted performances from the likes of Slade, Billy Ocean, China Crisis, The Beat and Maxi Priest.
The partnership started in early November and the two parties have worked to ensure a smooth transition from the venue’s previous ticketing partner. Gigantic will now be the headline provider of tickets for the venue’s full programme of shows. Tickets purchased from previous outlets for upcoming shows will still be valid.
Customers will now benefit from the use of e-tickets and will also be subject to a flat 10% booking fee, to cater for everyone on different budgets.
In a joint statement, The Robin management said: “Stepping into 2023, The Robin will be more customer-focused, pricing tickets for our shows keenly where we can and working with partners like Gigantic to reach new audiences.
“We’ve listened to customer feedback who felt some of the ticketing charges were excessive. Now, there will only be a 10% booking fee which we are delighted with.”
The Robin hopes to create a more diverse programme to attract newcomers and regulars, with upcoming shows including Peter Cox of Go West, Danny Vaughn of Tyketto, Hugh Cornwell from The Stranglers and more.
Mike Gasson, founder and managing director of Gigantic, added: “It’s fantastic to be working with The Robin. We’re excited to have a venue with such a rich history and customer-focused outlook onboard. At Gigantic, we aim to put the customer first and working with everyone at The Robin will allow them to continue to do so.”
