Doncaster Rovers switch to e-ticketing

English League Two football club Doncaster Rovers will move to e-tickets for the upcoming season at Eco-Power Stadium, following an upgrade of its ticketing sales system.

Supporters will no longer receive physical copies of match tickets, and will instead be sent an email containing an e-ticket which will include a QR code to be scanned on entry to the stadium via turnstiles.

“The new upgrade has modernised our ticket sales procedure and means the process is much more simple for the vast majority of our supporters,” said Club Doncaster box office manager Tracy Bawden.

“Fans will no longer need to queue to collect tickets at the stadium, or be left with a wait for tickets to arrive via post. The move away from physical tickets also brings a big green benefit as the club continues to address environmental sustainability.

“Supporters without smartphones or access to printing at home need not worry as they will be offered the options to collect tickets at the stadium or have them posted out.”

Tickets will be emailed to the individual that makes the purchase, with the option of printing a copy of the e-ticket at home or having the QR code ready on a smartphone to enter the 15,231-capacity Eco-Power Stadium.

The League Two club has also warned attendees that there may be limited network or wifi coverage at the stadium, and has encouraged fans to download tickets to their mobile phones, ready for entry.

Those without smartphones and the ability to print at home are still able to request tickets to be printed at the Club Doncaster Box Office.

Season Membership holders will still receive a physical card as normal for all home league matches. E-tickets will be sent out for entry to any home cup matches or friendlies.
