Live entertainment company Live Nation will be offering fans the chance to own digital collectible NFT (non-fungible tokens) ticket stubs, called Live Stubs, for a select number of its North America shows.
Live Nation will deliver the first-ever Live Stubs digital collectible NFTs for fans buying tickets for the upcoming Swedish House Mafia: Paradise Again tour. This will be the Swedish band’s first tour in 10 years.
Fans that purchase tickets to the tour at venues promoted by Live Nation and powered by Ticketmaster’s digital ticketing platform will receive Live Stubs for free.
Ticket holders will also be able to view, share, gift, trade and resell their Live Stubs on Live Nation’s website, though these NFTs do not replace the digital tickets needed to enter the concert.
Michael Rapino, president and chief executive officer of Live Nation Entertainment, said: “Our Live Stubs product brings back the nostalgia of collecting ticket stubs while also giving artists a new tool to deepen that relationship with their fans. We can’t wait to see what the creativity of this community dreams up as it grows.
“Special thanks to Swedish House Mafia for kicking it off for their upcoming tour.”
Swedish House Mafia’s previous tour ‘One Last Tour’ sold over one million tickets.
Live Nation NFTs and Live Stubs are minted on an eco-friendly blockchain. Ticketmaster also has the ability to mint and share NFTs through its digital ticketing technology.
The Live Stubs digital collectible NFTs will reflect the digital ticket to the event, including the section, row and seat of each ticket purchased.
