Demand for tickets to Women’s Super League (WSL) matches have increased significantly following England’s UEFA Euro 2022 win.
According to the Manchester Evening News, following England’s win over Germany in the Women’s Euro 2022 final, searches for Manchester City women’s games surged by over 3,000%.
England secured victory over Germany through a goal from Manchester City’s Chloe Kelly, in front of a record-breaking crowd of 87,192 at Wembley on Sunday.
Manchester Evening News cited data from AceOdds, which demonstrated that Google searches for games in the WSL had increased by 1,378% across the 10 most popular women’s clubs. This means that searches for the WSL have almost doubled since last year.
Searches for ‘Women’s Football Tickets’ also reached a five-year high and are up 576% compare to the end of the 2017 women’s Euro tournament.
Manchester City saw demand for tickets rising by 3,233%, while interest in tickets for Manchester United were up by 1,150%. Inquiries for Chelsea tickets rose by 2,400% and Arsenal witnessed an increase of 1,576%.
