Our weekly tech round-up from the world of ticketing and associated industries…

Bayern centralises payments

Bayern Munich has appointed Adyen, the financial technology platform, as its exclusive payment solution partner to handle the club’s payment processing across all sales channels.

Adyen’s payment services will be used across all functions at FC Bayern Munich including the purchase of merchandise at the fan-shop, club memberships and tickets at the Allianz Arena.

Adyen said that with the use of its newest mobile point of sale terminal, the AMS1 model, long queues at the arena’s fan-shop checkout can be avoided as staff can accept payments from anywhere in the store.

“By unifying sales channels, the club can now create seamless and consistent customer journeys which will make fans’ lives easier,” Adyen added.

MSG Sports invests in access security business

The investment from the Madison Square Garden Corp subsidiary will enable Xtract One to further innovate its security solution and accelerate its growth into new market segments. Xtract One is seeking to transform perimeter screening and security, replacing walk-through metal detectors with a fast, frictionless entry experience, while simultaneously providing a security solution that delivers exceptional experiences and safer environments.

“We are thrilled to announce this investment and partnership with MSG Sports. We continue to see impressive growth in market interest and customer adoption of our security technology solutions,” said Peter Evans, chief executive of Xtract One. “I believe this relationship will create unique opportunities and benefit multiple industries.”

Cocky NFT ticketing founded in NZ

A new platform designed to bring electronic music and blockchain technologies together has been launched in New Zealand.

Cocky has been founded in Auckland with both NFT and ticketing divisions. It will organise in-person and virtual concerts around the world.

Cocky tickets will be available as NFTs and e-tickets. The group said these tickets are disbursed among members using an algorithm. 30% of the tickets are arbitrarily distributed amongst members living close to the venue of the event. Another 30% is randomly distributed among the remaining members. The remaining 40% is allotted for members who have high attendance in discord sessions.

Cocky added: “Cocky Tickets should not be confused with Cocky NFTs. Both of them are quite different from each other. The POAP protocol is utilised to coin these tickets. These tickets not only serve to provide entry into real-world events but being birthed form the Proof Of Attendance Protocol (POAP) gives them the attribute of recording data related to the number of spectators.”
