Theatre ticketing platform Stagedoor has been acquired by live entertainment company Trafalgar Entertainment Group.
Stagedoor offers users audience and critic reviews, personalised recommendations and booking opportunities.
As part of the deal, Stagedoor’s staff, and co-founders chief executive Michael Hadjijoseph and chief technology officer Alex Cican, will remain with the company.
Hadjijoseph said: “We’re delighted to be joining the Trafalgar Entertainment family at an exciting time in our journey. Our aligned vision together with the strong synergies and capabilities of Trafalgar Entertainment further equip us to realise Stagedoor’s full potential in becoming ‘the new home of theatre’.”
Helen Enright, Trafalgar Entertainment Group chief operating officer, added: “Innovation is at the heart of everything we do at Trafalgar Entertainment, and we’re delighted to be welcoming Michael, Alex and the Stagedoor team to the fold. We look forward to working with them to expand the app’s reach and offering, and will continue to invest in the technology and the app’s capabilities.
“Crucially, this acquisition and investment in Stagedoor will add greater value to producers, and the additional sales channel will enable us to reach a broader audience and gather valuable data from committed theatre goers.
“The acquisition also reinforces our commitment to the theatre industry and is an exciting proposition for Trafalgar Entertainment as we continue to build our ticketing division and strategy. We look forward to selling more shows, tickets and providing value added services to customers and theatre fans everywhere.”
