Tickets went on sale on Sunday for the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2020 in Singapore, with the National Stadium and Bishan Stadium hosting games between December 5 and January 1.
From November 28-30, only Group A tickets will be sold and Singapore fans will be given exclusive priority. Tickets cost S$25 (£14/$18/€16) for adults and $15 for children aged 12 and under.
On double-header match days, tickets will give fans entry to both games. From December 1onwards, other fans will be able to purchase tickets.
Football Association of Singapore general secretary Yazeen Buhari said: “It has taken longer than usual and we acknowledge the fans’ eagerness to purchase tickets for the AFF Suzuki Cup 2020.
“Fans’ health and safety continues to be our utmost priority, especially in today’s circumstances, and we are confident that the security protocols and safe management measures that will be put in place would ensure a safe and enjoyable match day experience for all.”
Fans will be able to purchase up to eight tickets per match day, and should they purchase a bundle of four of Singapore’s Group A matches, they will receive a 20% discount. This is known as the SG Pack and must be bought within the three-day time frame.
Buhari added: “I would like to thank the fans for their patience and am looking forward to seeing them at the stadiums to cheer the teams on as we witness the region’s best level of football in action. This edition of the AFF Suzuki Cup would also see our Lions play at home after more than two years and I am sure the Singapore fans will be out in force to cheer on our boys.”
According to The Straits Times, the 55,000-capacity National Stadium will allow 10,000 fans for each match day, while 1,000 will be allowed at the smaller 6,000-capacity Bishan Stadium.
While the capacities are not confirmed, the FAS has said that any fans attending will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Strict social distancing measures and enforced seating allocations will also be in place. At the National Stadium, seated groups are limited to two people, while at the Bishan Stadium it is single seats only, with a one metre gap between groups.
At the National Stadium, fans will also be assigned to different sectors of no more than 500 sectors each. Each fan will wear a coloured wristband to aid with these measures, as well as serving as an indicator for re-entry.
Food and drink, including water, are not permitted at either stadium and fans are also required to wear face masks. Musical instruments are also not allowed to be brought to the matches.
Singapore men’s team kicks off the campaign against Myanmar in Group A at the National Stadium on December 5, while Group B matches will mostly be held at Bishan Stadium.
