A new music festival in Puerto Rico, Sauce Boyz Fest, drew sell-out crowds across two events last week.
The new festival featured three stages of music from over 30 artists including international headliners such as Wiz Khalifa and Bizarrap alongside home-grown artists.
Sauce Boyz Fest day one took place on May 18 at brewery Cervecera de Puerto Rico in Mayaguez, and welcomed a sold-out crowd of 7,000. American rapper Eladio Carrión performed and was joined by Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny, while Tokischa and Young Miko also took to the stage.
After a venue change due to infrastructure issues, the second event took place on May 20 in San Juan’s Convention District and welcomed a sold-out crowd of 25,000.
The second leg of the festival featured performances from Argentine artists Bizarrap and Duki, Wiz Khalifa and Carrión, who was joined on stage by Lil Wayne, Mike Towers and Jhayco.
Alejandro Pabon, managing director of Move Concerts of Puerto Rico, said: “So proud of all of the people that pushed and worked day and night to make this festival a world-class event in just five days of build-up, proud to be a part of this team and experience.”
The festivals also featured a gaming area and multiple art installations and the event was also live-streamed via YouTube.
