London is set for a new open-air venue that will hold one-off events and festivals.
Event management company Broadwick Live has unveiled the new venue, Dockyards, which is a 400,000-square-foot space on the bank of the River Thames.
Dockyards will be based right next to London City Airport and is due to run events all year round.
The venue overlooks the iconic river in Silvertown Quays and will be used for music and cultural events, as well as being made available as a space to film and for brand experiences.
Dockyards’ first event will be Defected London, a music festival dedicated to the house genre, which is set to take place on September 3-4.
Defected will be followed up by another festival just one week later. Above & Beyond Group Therapy Weekender is a music, arts and culture festival that will take place on September 10-11.

Broadwick Live-owned venue operator Venue Lab is also opening a new venue in Royal Docks next month.
The new indoor venue, The Beams, will boast a capacity of 5,000 people and can be used for filming, music, cultural events, photo shoots, set builds, exhibitions and fashion shows.
