FC Barcelona Femení’s first 3,000 free tickets have already been allocated to members by the club for the UEFA Women’s Champions League final against Olympique Lyonnais Féminin.
The final will be held at Allianz Stadium (pictured) in Turin on May 21, with a second batch of 4,000 tickets going on sale to the general public today. Both fans and club members will be able to purchase these tickets.
The tickets will cost just $10 (£9/$11) plus a $2.50 handling charge, and will be available to purchase until 12pm CEST on May 13.
Tickets purchased will be named, personal and non-transferable. This legislation was introduced following a Barcelona men’s Champions League match against German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, which saw almost half of Camp Nou made up of Frankfurt fans.
Ticket holders will need to show a passport or national ID card to confirm their identity, and if the name does not match the name on the ticket, the Italian authorities reserve the right to prevent access to the stadium.
Up to four tickets can be purchased during the same transaction, but each ticket will require the personal information of the final recipient of the ticket. Tickets can not be given to relatives or friends.
Tickets purchased from the Barcelona website will be sent to buyers from the Italian Federation between May 13 and the final. Attendees can show their ticket on their mobile phone or via a print-out, and it will not be possible to collect a ticket at Juventus Stadium or any of Barcelona’s ticket offices.
Barcelona Women will hope to pack the Italian stadium ahead of the Women’s Champion League final, having smashed the attendance record for a women’s football match in the quarter-finals. An eye-watering 91,553 spectators watched Barcelona beat Real Madrid at Camp Nou in March.
The women’s side then went on to break the record again just three weeks later, when an even more impressive 91,648 attended Camp Nou to watch the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against VfL Wolfsburg.
