Women’s World Cup 2023 sets pre-sale record

Tickets for next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 in Australia and New Zealand have gone on general sale after a record-breaking pre-sale.

Fans can now access One Stadium Super Passes and One Stadium Flexi Passes following the conclusion of the priority pre-sale for Visa cardholders.

One Stadium Super Passes provide fans with a ticket to every match at one of the tournament’s 10 stadiums. One Stadium Flexi Passes provide supporters access to a ticket to a pre-determined match at a stadium of their choice, plus up to two additional matches throughout the tournament.

FIFA Chief Women’s Football Officer, Sarai Bareman said there is a genuine “appetite” amongst fans locally and globally to lock in tickets for the first-ever FIFA tournament to be co-hosted by two nations from different confederations.

“On the first day of the Visa pre-sale we sold more tickets than in the entire first week when we released for France 2019,” Bareman said. “That is a big indicator that the appetite is 100% there, and that’s without even having the draw.

“For me being a New Zealander and having grown up in the region, I find it amazing that the whole world is going to be able to come down and see two incredible countries and experience a Women’s World Cup.”

Home Team Passes will also be on sale through the current general sales window, providing registered supporters of Australia and New Zealand with the opportunity to follow their nation throughout the group phase. Australia will play their group matches in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, while New Zealand will take to the pitch in Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin.

Matches will also be played in Perth and Adelaide in Australia and Hamilton in New Zealand.

Organisers said: “The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 will be accessible and affordable for all, with family-friendly ticket packages available on a first-come, first-served basis.”

The draw for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 will take place next Saturday (Oct 22) at the Aotea Centre in Auckland.
